The Gambia Volleyball Association (GVBA) on 6 March 2011 held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) Conference Hall in Mile 7.

Three executive members were elected to occupy the vacant positions in the association. They are Badou Senghore who was elected as the 1st vice-president of the association, Bai Dodou Jallow as the secretary of the association, and Alagie Babou Joof as auditor.

A committee was also set up to review the constitution of the association.

Speaking at the ceremony, the executive secretary of the National Sports Council, Mamudu Max Jallow, said the AGM is the lifeblood of the national associations and urged all associations to live up to their constitutional mandates as well as to be organising AGMs.

He also urged associations to be electing members who can live up to expectations and can also steer the affairs of the association as expected.

Musa Casa Taal, president of the Gambia Volleyball Association (GVA), in his activity report for 2010, highlighted the achievements and setbacks of the association over the period.

Cassa Taal said: "As we enter another monumental year for the volleyball and beach-volley, I would like to thank all teams, officials and members of the Gambia Volleyball Association for their outstanding participation over the past year’s active services in ensuring a smooth running of tournaments, coaching and training courses.

"Over the years through dedication, determination and hard work of the executive of the association without any sponsorship, the volleyball association has also registered tremendous successes."
