The football final of the first edition of the July 22nd U-12 Football Tournament is slated to take place on 22nd July, 2010, at the Gambia Senior Secondary School ground at 8:00am, between Jullins F.C of Half Die and Young Marcus of Tobacco Road.
The tournament was competed by sixteen teams from all areas of the capital.
According to the President of the organising committee, Mr. Keller who pioneered the whole competition, the purpose of organising this kind of competition at this young age is to promote football at the grassroot level, and also celebrate with the President on his sixteen years anniversary.
This Keller went on "I will try to make sure that this July 22nd annual tournament does not stop only this year, hence I am well-known to the community people in my effort of promoting sports, especially football at the grass root level."
"Another reason why we decided to name the trophy after the July 22nd is because of the love the young players have for the President who urged me to at least name one trophy after the President's annual anniversary celebration,."
Two previous trophies, namely Christmas trophy and Tobaski trophy, respectively were also stage by Mr Keller.
