The bodies of two people believed to be “very close friends” have been recovered, after drowning at sea in Brufut on Saturday afternoon, The Point has reliably learnt.
The bodies of Sanu Jammeh, 12, and Isatou Darboe, 15, were recovered on Saturday and Sunday respectively, sources said.
The incident, which has sent shocking waves across the coastal town, happened at around 14:00hrs when people gathered at the beach for the usual beach picnic.
When contacted yesterday, cadet ASP David Kujabi, the police public relations officer confirmed the incident.
Meanwhile, the deceased were laid to rest on Sunday at Sukuta.
