Lamin Manjang and Landing Sanneh, both residents of Lamin Daranka, last Monday denied a charge of conspiracy to commit a felony and obtaining money by false pretence at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Effim.
According to the particulars of offence on count one, sometimes in the year 2007 at Lamin Daranka in the Western Region, the accused persons jointly conspired to commit felony to wit unlawfully obtained money from Morre Bebba.
While count two states that on the same year, the accused persons unlawfully obtained an amount of D215,000 (Two hundred and fifteen thousand dalasis), on the pretext that they would sell four empty plots of land to the said Morre Kebba, knowing very well that such representation was false.
Meanwhile, the accused persons were granted court bail in the sum of D50, 000, each with a Gambian surety.
The case was adjourned to 7th November 2009.
