Two
accused persons, Muhammed Hydara and Balema Sohna were recently arraigned
before the Basse High Court charged with rape.
The
prosecution alleged that the accused persons during the month of Ramadan last
year (12 June 2016), at Miseraba Mariama Village in the Upper River Region had
unlawful carnal knowledge of a 17-year-old girl.
The
prosecution led by State Counsel L. Jarju opened the prosecution case and
called the victim who testified that on the day of the alleged incident after
breaking her fast, she was on her way to her grandmother’s house when she met
the accused persons who took her to a house.
She
further testified that when they got to the house, the accused persons had
sexual intercourse with her one by one.
Hearing
continues in October during the sitting of the High Court in Basse.
