reaching this medium have confirmed that Justice Zainab Jawara Alami and
Justice Sainabou Wadda Cisse both of the High Court in Banjul have been
appointed as Summer Vacation Judges for the month of August and September 2017.
The
summer vacation of the superior courts of The Gambia would commence from
Tuesday 1 August 2017 and the summer vacation terminates on 29 September 2017.
The
next legal year would commence on 2 October 2017.
Justice
Zainab Jawara Alami would serve as the vacation judge for the month of August
2017, whilst Justice Sainabou Wadda Cisse would serve as the vacation judge for
the month of September 2017.
The
two judges were appointed recently by the Judicial Service Commission and sworn
in by President Adama Barrow.
It
could be recalled that the two judges were among the nine senior judicial
officials who recently returned from the Federal Republic of Nigeria after
attending a two-week training course at the Nigeria Judicial Institute in
Abuja.
