A businessman cum philanthropist, Modou Turo Darboe, the Executive Director of the Vision Development Foundation, yesterday gave a satellite system to Sheik Zayed regional eye centre in Kanifing Estate. The cost of the system is said to run into thousands of Dalasi's and comes at a time when the centre was in dire need of such a system.
In receiving the donations, Mr. Sarjo Kanyi, the administrator and also cataract surgeon, expressed gratitude to Mr. Darboe for coming to
their aid.
According to Mr. Kanyi, the satellite dish will go a long way in contributing to a conducive environment for both staff and patients. Sheik Zayed eye care centre is a main centre for all eye cases in the region and is also a centre of excellence. Its main roles are to prevent blindness and restore sight.
