Turkish
Ambassador to The Gambia, Ismail Yeta Yuccer, last week paid a courtesy call on
the minister of defence where they
discussed defence matters and Gambia-Turkey bilateral relations.
During
discussion, Ambassador Yuccer alluded to
the fruitful and collaborative partnership between the Gambia and Turkey and
assured of his resolve to strengthen the partnership between Banjul and Ankara.
Defence
minister Sheikh Omar Faye hailed Turkey’s decades of consistent support to The Gambia in its
development efforts, especially in the area of security and military accomplishment.
He
thanked the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erodogan through Ambassador
Yuccer for standing by the Gambian
during those long and difficult years.
He
highlighted the significance The Gambia attached to the bilateral ties with
Turkey and assured the Ambassador of Gambia government’s resolve to strengthen
the ties for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
