Four Gambian doctors and eight nurses will undergo a medical training programme for three weeks, starting from September 8 in Turkey.
This was announced Thursday by the Turkish embassy in Banjul, which added that “this training programme will be jointly funded by the Turkish Ministry of Health and the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA).”
The embassy news release recalled that many agreements were signed by the governments of Turkey and The Gambia on 24th May 2014, during the first Turkey-Gambia Joint Economic Commission meeting.
“These agreements, which were signed in Banjul, include funding of some health-related activities and on-the-job training packages for Gambian personnel in Turkey”, the release added.
