The slaughtering of the bulls was carried out at a Centre in Sukuta immediately after the congregational prayers.
The donation came through Khadija Foundation Centre based in The Gambia under the supervision of Master Mohammed F. Jabbi, who is the chairman of the foundation in The Gambia. He also serves as the master of Brufut Upper and Senior Secondary School.
Speaking at the mosque during his sermon the Imam of the Sukuta Central mosque, Sheikh Imam Ismaila Baye, praised the coordinator of the Turkish Muslim Foundation’s activity in The Gambia, Master Mohamed F. Jabbie, for being a patriotic Gambian who has love and good heart not only for the people of Sukuta but the whole country at large.
He said Master Jabbie did everything possible to bring the donors to The Gambia to support needy Muslims to celebrate their feast.
He described Master as a truthful, honest and hardworking man who has great ambition for his country.
He then appealed alongside needy Gambians to have more of Master Jabbie, who has “clean heart” for humanity, as well as prayed for his long life and prosperity to continue helping needy Muslims in this country.
Speaking at the presentation, the chairman of the Sukuta Medina Development Association, Alieu Keita, expressed joy and appreciation about the gifts provided to Gambian Muslims to support them to celebrate the Tobaski feast.
“The donation is not a small measure as far as the Tobaski feast is concerned,” he said.
Mr Keita also described the donors as “true friends of The Gambia”, and assured them that the bulls will be used accordingly.
He also thanked Master Jabbie for being very supportive of the needy people “but this year the package is a big surprise” to many people.
He therefore on behalf of the beneficiaries in Sukuta, thanked the donors for coming up with the “magnificent” gesture, which would go a long way in helping poor and needy Gambians during the Tobaski feast.
Mr Keita also praised Master Jabbie for having brought a lot of development not only to Sukuta but also to other catchment areas, with additional support to schools and madrassas, building of mosques, supporting women gardeners, and other development ventures.
One Abdoulie Jatta of Sukuta New Town, former chairman of APRC branch in Sukuta, also expressed appreciation for receiving their annual Tobaski gifts that came from Doctors Worldwide -Turkey qurbani 2015.
He thanked the Turkish head of the delegation for their noble act in distributing bulls to various locations and for serving the poor and needy.
He said the donors of the bulls deserved to be commended as well as their coordinator of activities in The Gambia, Master Jabbie, for the support rendering to the people.
He also praised Master Jabbie for being “very honest” as well as for having love for humanity and being very developmental-oriented.
For his part, Master Jabbie, who was full of joy and appreciation, gave thanks and praises to the almighty Allah for giving them the strength and the ability for being the architect of the partnership with the Turkey foundation.
He also thanked the president of The Gambia for creating an environment conducive for foreigners to come and invest in the country and the Gambian people.
“This partnership has been built for the past year but this is the second annual distribution of bulls to various Muslim communities in The Gambia,” he said.
In the past, he explained, the distribution was carried out on a small scale “but this year the number increased to seventy-five bulls”.
He said the gesture was a blessing for the Gambian people and urged needy Gambians to fervently pray for the partnership to continue to go from strength to strength.
Also the team leader of the donors, Mr Fatih Mehmet Sula, said his organization was very elated and impressed about the commitment of the Gambian people.
The distribution of the bulls was very much appreciated by the people, which gives them the courage to give more support to needy Gambians, he said.
