Trial of alleged theft case proceeds

The criminal trial of stealing by clerk or servant involving one Omar Darboe continued recently at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate Abeke.

Testifying for the prosecution, Pa Lang Camara, the marketing manger of Investment Service National Bureau De Change, told the court that on 23 January 2011, he received a phone call from his father informing him that the accused, Omar Darboe, had misappropriated his money and he (the father) wanted an audit.

He said he conducted an audit at the Kairaba Avenue Investment Service National Bureau De Change, adding that he later went with the accused to his office in Brikama where the accused handed over all the documents to him, such as receipt book and cash book.

The case at that juncture was adjourned till 27 June 2011.
