Brufut United on Tuesday thrashed Kexx United 3-1 in their re-scheduled week-nine fixtures played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium to maintain their first division hopes alive after losing their two previous fixtures in the country’s second tier.
Brufut
United are now among the teams competing for promotion to the first division
league next season with 18 points in ten league matches after their astonishing
win over the Wellingara-based outfit.
The
Brufut-based outfit missed first division promotion to Tallinding United last
season after finishing third spot. They will be hopeful of winning their
remaining fixtures in the first round to mount pressure on teams above them in
the second tier to fancy their chances of winning promotion to the top flight
next season.
The
Wellingara-based mid-table in the second tier will brawl to win their remaining
matches in the first round to keep their hopes of staying in the second
division league yet for another season after a recent poor run of form in the
country’s second tier.
