Tough encounters in GFA 1st Division League

The Week 18 fixtures in the 2011-2012 Gambia Football Association (GFA) division one league will produce interesting, exciting, fascinating and tough encounters this weekend.

As part of week 18 fixtures, Armed Forces will meet Bakau giant killers Steve Biko tomorrow 12 May 2012, at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Armed Forces are currently doing extremely well and also unbeaten in the second round, while Steve Biko have snatched 21 points in seventeen games and are expecting to bounce back after their 2-1 defeat to Real De Banjul.

Young Africans will entertain struggling Serrekunda United at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium. Young Africans have secured 22 points in seventeen games, while Serrekunda United are currently struggling at the bottom of the table with 14 points in fifteen games with two games in hand against Steve Biko and Gamtel.

Gamtel will face Bakau United in the other Week 7game to be played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on the same day.

Gamtel and Bakau United have collected 19 points but Gamtel have a game in hand against Serrekunda United.

On Sunday 13 May 2012, the reigning league champions Brikama United with 19 points in sixteen games with a game in hand against Hawks, will host City Real De Banjul with 26 points in seventeen games at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Record champions Wallidan with 19 points in seventeen games will rub shoulders with Gambia Ports Authority with 23 points in sixteen games with a game against Samger in the all-Banjul derby game at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Elsewhere, Hawks with 21 points in sixteen games with a game in hand will battle it out with Samger with 23 points in sixteen games with a game in hand.
