Ousman Njie, head coach of Seaview FC, has said it is too early to say his side would be relegated to the second tier of Gambia Football, citing that even bigger teams are dropping points along the way.
Ous Njie was speaking to reporters shortly after his side’s 1-1 draw with Brikama United in the week-nine fixtures of the GFA first division league game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Sunday.
He stated that Seaview FC was amongst the strongest teams in the country but it became scrapped and are currently rebuilding.
He added that he expected a tough campaign but hopes to maintain the team in the topflight tier.
Coach Njie said his team is not financially strong like institutional teams, but despite his team being a goal down against Brikama United he told his players “it was not over until the final whistle is blown”, which they adhered to.
Sulayman Kuyateh, head coach of Brikama United, in his remarks, said he was not disappointed with the score line but with the officiating of the game.
“Referees need to change their attitude in the way they officiate certain games,” he said, adding that his goalkeeper was fouled in the goal they conceded.
