Gambian female league champions Red Scorpions on Friday beat fellow women side Makasutu of Brikama 5-1 in a test game played at the Brikama Mini Stadium.
Pullo Bah and Adama Tamba each scored a brace for Red Scorpions to give their side a 4-0 lead at half time.
The second period saw Makasutu play a larger part of the game and score a consolation through star player Penda Bah in the 73rd minute but Kumba Kuyateh sealed the victory for Red Scorpions in the 78th minute of the game.
The test game was organised to raise funds for the team’s participation in an international tournament in Senegal.
Red Scorpions also used the friendly to prepare themselves ahead of an international women’s tournament in Senegal from 1 to 7 April 2013.
The tournament is expected to bring together teams from Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and The Gambia’s Red Scorpions.
