Don’t be afraid to ask

“Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.” (Genesis 25:21)

Don’t let guilty feelings stop you from praying

Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “O Sovereign Lord, remember me. O God, please strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow get my revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.” (Judges 16: 28-30)

Pray when God seems far away

“Why O Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?” (Psalm 10:1)

We can prayer anywhere, anytime

“In my distress I valled to the Lord and He answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry.” (Jonas 2:1)

Using prayer to make decisions (Acts 1: 12 -13)

Discernment to ask for the right things

“Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or is he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7: 10-11)

Should prayer precede important decisions? (Luke 6:12)
