Timber and Furniture Managing Director Speaks Out

The managing director of Timber and Furniture, Mr Osman Tasbasi, has said that over 150 Gambian youths are now working in his company. The Company is located at Mamadi Manjang Highway in the Kanifing Industrial Area.

Speaking in an interview with these reporters recently at his office, Mr Osman Tasbasi disclosed that his company is engaged in 14 different businesses, adding that he will also venture into the food sector soon. He lamented the fact that most of the food consumed by Gambians is imported from abroad. He said for him to go into the food sector, will create more employment for Gambian Youths. Mr Tasbasi is a Turkish national but has lived in the country for 13 years.

The managing director explained that, he was operating in Russia, Georgia and Issack Bajan but due to bad political and economic situations was forced to come to The Gambia. He said since he came to The Gambia, he finds life better as one can roam about at any hour of the day. Mr Osman Tasbasi urged Youths to be hardworking and those going to school to take their education seriously.
