Theft case progresses

The theft case involving one Ousman Sarr, who was alleged to have stolen two memory sticks from the shop of one Alieu Ceesay, continued recently at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, before Magistrate Cham.

The third prosecution witness (PW3), Mama Darboe, told the court she was not present when the accused was stealing the items.

She said when she heard some noise, she went out to verify what was happening and as she arrived at the shop of Alieu, she found the accused there being surrounded by a group of boys.

The boys were telling the accused to surrender what he had stolen, she explained, adding that when the boys started beating him, the accused surrendered what he had stolen.

The accused was later taken to the police station, she noted adducing that she did not follow them to the police station, nor did she give a statement to the police with regard to the case.

The case continues.
