Ndey Astou Konateh, aged, 45, who was involved in a recent fatal car accident on Talinding Highway, has finally breathed her last at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital where she was hospitalised, this paper has been reliably informed.
She was reportedly laid to rest last Wednesday at Old Jeshwang Cemetery.
Speaking to this reporter at their family compound in Serrekunda Bartress, shortly after the burial, a sister to the late Ndey Astou Konateh, one Ms. Annie Jarboh, said the late Astou was a vendor who used to sell cake at the Banjul International Airport.
According to Ms. Jarboh, the late Astou was on her way to Banjul to make the cake, when she met her untimely death.
She narrated that all her personal effects, including mobile phone, clothes, and cash were all lost in the accident, adding that none of the said items could be traced.
She maintained that the late Astou was a devout Muslim, who was the only breadwinner of the family, describing her as a hardworking and respected woman in their family.
The late Astou is survived by many children.
It would be recalled that on Sunday 23rd August 2009, one Ousman Suwareh, a driver allegedly caused a fatal road accident, which claimed the life of one Karamo Manneh on the spot.
