Taiwanese Trade Fair Delegation Briefs Press

A high-powered delegation from the Republic of China on Taiwan, who are presently in The Gambia to participate in the 2OO9 Trade Fair on Saturday held a press briefing with local journalists, at the trade fair ground at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Taiwanese delegation which was led by their chief delegate, Mr. Mike Hung, the President of the National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and the Committee of International Business Affairs of the Republic of China, last Saturday held a press briefing with local journalists.

Addressing the journalists during the press conference, Mike Hung, the chief delegate told reporters that their mission to The Gambia is to participate in the trade fair so as to interact with their Gambian counterparts, and to tap business opportunities in the country in diverse areas.

According to Mr. Hung, their coming to The Gambia is a clear testimony of the bilateral relation that exists between the two countries, which he said, is growing from strengthen to strengthen. Noting that The Gambia is a true friend of Taiwan, he said the trade fair would foster Gambia-Taiwan relationship in small and medium business.

For his part, Taiwanese Ambassador to The Gambia, H.E Richard Shih also told reporters that Taiwan is very committed in fostering the already existing bilateral ties with The Gambia.

Noting that boosting trade between Taiwan and The Gambia is a very good initiative that creates opportunities for both countries, Ambassador Shih also told reporters that Taiwan is also happy to partner with The Gambia, hoping that their delegates will learn a lot from the trade fair.

He said Taiwan would continue to partner with The Gambia and explore in diverse areas of concern.
