The Gambia Table Tennis Association (GTTA) is planning to revive its drive to stage a national championship meant to promote its decentralization to all regions in the country, according to the president of the association, Peter Prom, who is also the Secretary of the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC).
Prom, who has expressed his association’s willingness to develop and promote Table Tennis to higher height in the country, was speaking with reporters at the Independence Stadium in Bakau recently.
“We are planning to stage a national championship and during the league games, we will scout players for the national team that will represent The Gambia at international competitions,” he said.
He added that they also want to take part in the All-African games to be hosted in Maputo, Mozambique, in September 2011 and also in the London Olympic Games next year.
