One
Demba Bah was Thursday, 10 November, arraigned before Justice O. Ottaba of the
High Court in Banjul, charged with the offence of rape.
The
accused, it was alleged, sometime in March 2016 at Lamin village in the West
Coast Region of The Gambia, had unlawful carnal knowledge of a fifteen-year old
girl (name withheld) without her consent, and thereby committed an offence.
The
accused pleaded not guilty to the charge, and was remanded in prison custody.
The
matter was adjourned until 16 November 2016, for the prosecution to open their
case.
