One Fatoumata Sano, a woman suspected to be insane, was recently arraigned before Senior Magistrate Baboucarr Secka of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court for alleged murder.
According to the particulars of offence, Fatoumata Sano, on or about the 4 November 2009 at Suwareh Kunda village hit one Mama Suwareh on the head with a wooden stool several times, causing her death. There was no plea taking, and the case was adjourned to the 28 September, 2010.
Meanwhile, to determine whether the accused person is insane or not, the trial magistrate has ordered that she be placed under medical observation in the custody of Tanka Tanka Psychiatriac Hospital at Brusubi.
