Stunning Performance for Red Scorpions in GFA Female League Opener

The 2006/07 winners of the Gambia Football Association Female League, Red Scorpions over the weekend put up a very stunning performance in their opening matches of the 2007/08 Female League.

The formidable side whose attacking force proved too strong for their weekend opponents Future Bi, seriously thrashed them by a goal margin of 8-0.

 The Red Scorpions determined players like Fatou Jeng, Maimuna Saho, Anta and Manasa Suso each had their share of the goals. Fatou recorded three goals, Maimuna and Manasa both scored two each while Anta marked a single goal on the score sheets.

 Interior also thrashed Makasutu 3-0 as part of the first division opening matches on Friday.

 In the second division matches, Kineh's United defeated Jamcity 2-1 while Jeshwang United and the City Girls, whose match could not end due to disruptions was 1-1 before the stoppage of the match.

Last evening as we went to press, Abuko United were locking horns with Company Ten in the first Division while Senegambia took on Watford in the lower league at the Real Football Field at the Independence Stadium, in Bakau as part of week one matches.
