State counsel Aji Adam Ceesay yesterday told the
Banjul High Court before Justice Abi that the case file involving nine
fisheries officials was not yet with them, as the case emanated from the Banjul
Magistrates’ Court.
The accused persons are Amadou Saine, Nfamara Dampha, former director, Famara Darboe, director of Fisheries, Dr Bamba Banja, then permanent secretary, Kebba Konjira, Joseph Gabidon, Musa Jawla, Abdoulie Njie, and Momodou Njie.
It would be recalled that the accused persons were earlier arraigned at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court on 3 February 2015, charged with eleven criminal counts ranging from multiple counts of neglect of official duty, to economic crime and abuse of office.
The case continues.
