Star FC on Tuesday 24th August 2010 defeated Corr Ainu FC by two goals to nil in the Kanifing Estate Nawetaan, at the Charles Fowlis Senior Secondary School Playing field.

Star FC, a team full of gifted players, had a brilliant start to the game dominating the better part of the encounter, as well as ball possessions, thus creating some impressive goal opportunities, but failed to capitalise on them.

However, the unsettled Corr Ainu FC later came back into the game and created some goal attempts, but could not hit the target, due to the lack of poor finishing ability.

Both teams continued to push forward with some good ball possessions, but two vital goals from Star FC broke the deadlock in the 26th and 31st minutes of the second period to complete a 2-0 score line.

Elsewhere, at the Serrekunda Lower Basic School, Cannon FC defeated Pencha Bi FC by a goal to nil, to register their second victory in two games in the Late Abdoulie Njie tournament. The championship, which is organised by Mustapha Drammeh, the Programme Officer for Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation, is sponsored by Gambian International Footballer O. J. Koroma.

Edirisa Jobe scored the only goal of the game for Cannon FC in the 51st minute to give his side all three points.

Both teams were reduced to ten-men in the 68th minute of the game when Yankuba Jarju of Pencha Bi FC and Mbakeh of Cannon FC were both sent off for unsporting behaviour.
