St George's Guilds Donates Institutions

St. George's Guilds in Denmark, in collaboration with the Gambia Boden Powel Society on Tuesday 1st December 2009 donated several institutions in the country.

The beneficiaries were Essau Health Centre, Kerr Cherno Health Centre, National Disaster Committee, Gambia Scout Association, Soma Scout Skill Centre, Tujereng  Police Station, Tampoto Basic Cycle School, Sanyang Scout and Mbowen Clinic.

The donated items included blood pressure machine, wheel chairs, office furniture, hospital beds, hospital equipment, folding scream, typewriter and sewing machines.

Speaking at the ceremony, held at Little Trees Skills Training Centre in Bakoteh, the Secretary-General  of the project, Ousman Semaga Janneh, revealed that this is not the first time St George's is donating to institutions in The Gambia.

He urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the donated items while thanking the donors for the kind gesture.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Inspector Ndong, expressed delight at the gesture, and assured them the donated items would be properly utilised.

He also thanked the donors for their valuable contributions to the development of The Gambia.
