Jan 28, 2010, 2:56 PM | Article By: Lamin Drammeh

A young talented sports reporter, Pa Nderry Touray is a rare quality in the Gambian media fraternity.

The aspiring young Gambian presenter who has quickly established himself as one of the most outstanding journalists the country has ever produced through his role as a young sport presenter with the Kids With Talents Radio Station widely called KWT was born in Banjul.

He attended Serrekunda Primary School, Latrikunda Upper Basic School before moving to the Gambia Senior Secondary School where he sat for the West African Secondary School Examination Council and came out with flying colours.

His passion and vision for sports, particularly football prompted him to move to K.W.T Radio Station as a sports presenter, where he earned the admiration of quite a good number of listening public, thanks to the efforts and support of the head of sports department of K.W.T Sarra Camara, whom he described as an outstanding individual, as well as a great personality.

A great historian Pa Nderry has already established a popular sports programme called Ninety (90) minutes World Soccer Show, which was launched On Saturday, 7th November 2009, with the ultimate objective of contributing his own quota in the development and promotion of sports, particularly football, a game he admired so much. The programme is aired live on K.W.T every Saturday from 9.30-11.00am.

The programme also gives football enthusiasts the unique opportunity to listen and send in their comments and views as to the way forward of Gambian sports and football, in particular.

It is one of the most interesting and exciting weekly sports programmes one could not afford to miss which also give you an update about what is happening in the world of sports, both locally and internationally

Pa Nderry is also described by many Gambian sports lovers, as well as his colleagues in the media as a great sports historian and analyst; his style of presentation and sharp analyst is considered by many to be one of the best in the country, despite the fact that he is only one-year-old in the media.

The young and ambitious sports presenter, who spoke to Pointsport Lamin Drammeh in this interview in his office at K.W.T on Tuesday 26th January 2010, said his success in the media largely depends on hard work and commitment having worked with great sports journalists, such as Sarra Camara, Pa Modou Faal, sub-editor at The Gambia's most authoritative newspaper The Point, including other journalists from various media houses, who have in one way or the other supported him in this noble profession.

He also used the platform to thank the management and staff of K.W.T radio for the trust and confidence bestowed on him.

"I cannot conclude this joyous interview without thanking the rest of my colleagues in K.W.T like Ebrima Jatta A.K.A (Campo), Tunko Sanneh, Mbye Camara and the rest of the sports crew for the support at all times."

"Am saying real thanks and appreciation to my fans and am counting on them for their support at all times," Pa Nderry concluded.
