Access
bank has emerged winner of the late Central Bank of The Gambia governor, Famara
Jatta memorial interbank tournament after beating Guaranty trust bank by 3-1 in
the final which was played at the Bakau mini stadium over the weekend.
Pascal
Touray, head coach of Access bank said they have been working so hard to win
the tournament. “We improve in every game and knew that we were going to defend
our title. We knew that GTBank did not know our tac-tics so we capitalized on
that and win,” he said.
He
said the secret behind their victory is commitment and have been on top since
day one, and don’t employ people to play for them so they will maintain that
until next year.
Amadou
Sowe, head coach of GTBank express how hard it is to lose the final back to
back especially the same opponent.
He
said access scored an early goal and were able to equalize in the first half
but even though they were hard on them they capitalize and won.
“The
confidence of my players lead to our defeat and access where we’ll prepared ,we
defended well but looking at access bank they have been scoring and winning
even last year they won by penalty shootout”.
