Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia is on the verge of staging a friendly match with the Serrekunda East Zonal Sports committee on Sunday, 31 October 2010 in commemoration of the demise of their late colleague Fatou Mbye, who passed away on 31 October 2009.
The friendly, scheduled to take place at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium, will set the pace for the annual memorial tournament billed to take place in November.
Tickets will be sold during the game in the name of Fatou Mbye Memorial Tournament.
Proceeds realised from the game will be used to kick start the programme.
Unlike the first edition which was purely a stakeholder affair looking at partners in sports development, the second edition seeks to focus on an inter-media football tournament featuring eight teams.
Aside from the male tournament, there will be a female stakeholders tournament featuring four teams.
