Sports Gambia.Com to be launched in March

Sports Gambia.Com, a newly established Gambian sports website meant for disseminating information on all Gambian sports disciplines, is set to be launched in March this year, information reaching Pointsport desk has revealed.

The website is expected to feature outstanding young Gambian stars plying their trade in the country's premier tier league, as well as foreign-based players.

It will also avail the Gambian people both at home and abroad the unique opportunity of having access to data and information regarding Gambian sports as well as to listen to live online radio streaming.

The main aim of the new sports website is to help young people to realise their career dreams, reduce crime rate, improve standard of radio broadcasting and help potential radio stations get quality presenters and marketing agents, says Sarra Camara, managing director of the new website, who also doubles as the presenter of Vibes FM Global Sports programme.

According to Mr Camara, former sports producer and presenter of KWT Radio Station, the new website is owned by H.B. and Brothers Company Limited located at 26 Kombo Sillah Drive in Serrekunda.
Camara, who visited The Point office yesterday, disclosed that the new website will also sponsor sports programmes at the Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) to feature and sell Gambian players to top leagues in Europe for the attainment of Gambia for Gold.

Sara added: "We also intend to sell Gambia Football Association (GFA) league to the private sector, which will also include six months of intensive training programme on theoretical and practical aspects."

Baboucarr Camara, former West Coast Radio online editor who now works with the Daily Observer as sports reporter, is expected to serve as editor-in-chief of the new website, Pointsport can reveal.
