Sports Council to meet national associations

A meeting meant to regularize the mode of operation of national sporting associations is billed for Wednesday at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The National Sports Council (NSC) will meet all national sporting associations to discuss issues regarding the de-registration process for all national associations.

Abdul Aziz Titao Mendy, Ag-executive secretary of the NSC told Poinsport that the council will this year issue a new criteria form for all sporting associations to re-register, an issue which will be discussed at Wednesday's meeting.

"If an association does not meet the criteria it will be given the status of a committee and will be granted time to upgrade itself to an association status," Titao Mendy said, adding that one of the criteria associations should meet is to form clubs.

Another issue to be discussed at the Wednesday meeting is the launch of the website of the NSC later this month.
