The trial of Pierre Jammeh, who was charged with stealing solar panels, continued recently at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Nkea.
Testifying before the court, Momodou Wurry Barry, a resident of Busura village, told the court that he knows the accused person, and said it was sometime in March 2010 when the accused person brought a chainsaw machine and sold it to him for D2,000.
He said a few days later, the accused person came back with some police officers to his home, and they asked him whether he knew the accused, and also asked about the machine the accused sold to him.
He said he replied in the affirmative, and was subsequently arrested and taken to Yundum Police Station, where he gave his statement.
Hearing continues.
