Rosenborg scored four minutes before the final to deny Ebrima Sohna's Sandefjord a point on Saturday in the Norwegian Tippeligaen.
The Gambian mid-field general, Ebrima Sohna, who was key in Sandefjord's well defended game received yellow in the 49th minute.
After a very good defensive game, until the 86th minute, it was super veteran Roar Strand who came in and scored the winner for the Tippeligaen leaders to conquer 33 points.
"I am impressed with the boys, and Bugge is the best goalkeeper in Norway," said team coach Patrick Walker after the game.
The defeat, the first after the World Cup break, has left Sandefjord deeply rooted at the bottom of the table with 6 points and 5 points behind nearest opponents.
After their well defended strategy that held until the 86th minute, Sandefjord are now looking ahead to Wednesday's NM Cup game.
