The Sports Journalists’ Association of The Gambia (SJAG) and The Gambia Press Union (GPU) are organizing a three-day refresher training course for radio sports journalists in the country.
The training kicks off today (Wednesday) at the GPU head office in Fajara at 9.00am.
The participants are those journalists that were late last year trained by Morten Hausborg, a renowned radio sports journalist from Denmark.
The training is aimed at building on the initial aim of producing trainers from that badge of participants that would go onto serve trainers for upcoming sports journalists.
During the training, participants will review the topics taught by Morten before they are grouped into groups to select topics of their choice. The topics they chose is what they will teach their colleagues while evaluators access the content of their materials, presentation techniques, teaching methodology and evaluation mechanism.
At the end of the three days, SJAG and GPU shall jointly identify five of them to run a step-down training for up and coming sports journalists.
The participants are Momodou Bah, Ebrima Suwareh, Assan Kebbeh, Ansumana S.O. Nyassi, Dawda Bah, Fatou Banja, Alieu Faal, Momodou Gajaga, Essa Sowe, Saidou Camara, Kassim Sissoho, Amadou Tamba, Amadou Kanteh, Sise Sawaneh, and Baboucarr Sey.
