now providing support to families of the migrants who died in the December 4

It says it is also in close contacts with its Red Cross Movement partner and other humanitarian partners in The Gambia and Mauritania to provide psychosocial support to the survivors of the tragic incident and their families.
“Meanwhile, The Gambia Red Cross Society has joined the rest of the nation in mourning the deaths of young Gambians off the coast of Mauritania,” it said.
According official figures, 60 deaths have been confirmed and 41 missing. At least 84 survivors are confirmed and assistance is being provided to them by Mauritanian authorities, the Red Cross and International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
