Upon admitting his criminal responsibility for stealing a sewing machine, a man called Pap Gaye was recently convicted and sentenced to a mandatory jail term of twelve months, by the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Tabally.
The court also ordered the recovered machine to be returned to the owner.
According to the charge sheet, on 1 December 2010, along Kairaba Avenue, at Fajara M Section, in the Kanifing Municipality, the convict, Pap Gaye, stole a sewing machine marked Bama, valued at D15,000, the property of one Oumie Ndow.
