President Yahya Jammeh yesterday effected a cabinet reshuffle, reminding ministers that there will be no room for complacency.
A press release from the office of the President aired over GRTS said Mambury Njie, minister of Economic Planning and Industrial Development, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Finance as minister; Abdou Kolley, minister of Finance, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment as minister; and Yusupha Kah, minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Works, Construction and Infrastructure as minister.
The release further informs the public that the Ministry of Finance will henceforth be renamed Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs as the Ministry of Economic Planning and Industrial Development has been reconstituted and brought under the Ministry of Finance as a department.
"All ministers are urged to live up to expectations so as to ensure maximum delivery of the national development programmes set in the Government’s Vision 2020 Blueprint, as time is ticking fast. Therefore, all are reminded that there will be no room for complacency," the release added. The dispatch went on to state that all ministers are assured of the executive's maximum support to ensure that "we collectively achieve our development aspirations".
The release seeks the blessing of Allah the Almighty to continue guiding us in our national endeavour to make The Gambia a better place for Gambians and non-Gambians alike.
