The African champions came from one-nil down to draw 1-1 with Real in the first round first-leg tie played at the Brikama Box Bar mini stadium in Brikama.
Real de Banjul made a stunning start to the game and dominated the visitors in midfield, and launched several goal-scoring attempts. Abdoulie Jallow could have given Real the lead in the 11th minute of the game, but his brilliant efforts were denied by the wood work.
The visitors also came very close to opening the scores through winger Bel Ameri in the 17th minute of the game, but his shot was denied by Real custodian, Alagie Nybally.
Another chance followed for Abdoulie Jallow of Real a few minutes before the break, but his excellent effort was denied by Sétif goalkeeper Bettani Baadra. Thus the first half ended goalless.
Upon resumption of the game, Real picked up from where they left in the first half and continued to mount pressure on Setif’s defence line, and thus opened the scores through winger Abdoulie Jallow in the 50th minute of the game from an astonishing strike to give the Gambian league champions the lead.
The African champions responded for an equalizer, and leveled the scores through Bouharr Sofiane in the 73rd minute of the game, to cancel Real’s lead and share the spoils.
