Senegal Win Independence Wrestling Championship

As part of The Gambia Wrestling Association activities to observe The Gambia's 44 years of independence a three nation wrestling championship at the Serekunda West Mini-Stadium.

The participating countries at the event were Senegal, Guinea Bissau and The Gambia.

The wrestling was well contested between the various countries.

At the end of the competition Senegal were crowned as champions they got 54 points, followed by The Gambia in second place with 38 points and Guinea Bissau came out third with 14 points

Speaking to Pointsports, yesterday, the President of The Gambia Wrestling Association, Matarr Jarjue, thanked the participating countries for coming to The Gambia to join his association in celebrating the countries independence.

He has assured the general public that wrestling will be organised every week and urged them to support the traditional game.
