Senegal
Under-20 team, Wednesday defeated Gambia 4-2 on post-match penalty shootout to
reach the 2019 WAFU zone A U-20 football tournament final after regulation time
ended 1-1 in the semifinal played in Guinea Conakry.
The
young Scorpions came from one nil down to draw with the young Terranger Lions
in the normal time of the last four clash of the sub-regional annual
championship.
This pushed the match into a penalty shootout,
which ended 4-2 in favour of Senegal.
This
defeat saw defending WAFU U-20 champions failed to defend their title. The will
now play Sierra Leone in the third place contest.
