Gambia forward Saihou Gassama who plays for Spanish side Real Zaragoza B will be set to play in the third division as the new season heats up.
Real made a poor finish in the 2012/13 league season and could not survive in the relegation play-offs.
Real Zaragoza B was defeated by zero goals to one in June in the second leg of the first round of the relegation play-offs against Constància in Second Division B match at the Ciudad Deportiva.
With this result, coupled with the first leg on land Balearic (5-1), the subsidiary Zaragocista consumed its descent to Third Division, club’s website reported.
The former Gambia Ports Authority midfielder made 17 league appearances scoring a single goal in his name and featured for the entire game in play-offs end game.
Last season, Gassama appeared seven times for the Spanish side.
With the main Real Zaragoza team having commenced their first training session this week with sights set on gaining promotion to the first division the team B is also faced with the challenge to return back to Second Division B Group 2.
New coach Emilio Larraz who was signed on Tuesday, June 18, as the new coach of Real Zaragoza B for the next three seasons will face the task.
