Russian president congratulates Barrow, calls for cooperation

Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, has written to Gambia’s president-elect Adama Barrow, to congratulate him on his victory in the 1st December presidential election.

In the letter from Moscow, Russia, dated 6 December, Mr Putin said:  “Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of your election as president.

“I look forward to further development of relations of friendship and cooperation, which traditionally exist between Russia and The Gambia.

“Wishing you good health and success in so responsible endeavours of Head of State.”
