Real de Banjul on Tuesday thrashed city rivals Wallidan 3-0 in their rescheduled fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium, to top the Gambia Football Federation division one league.

The victory has earned the Banjul-based club 19 points in nine games; leaving the defeated Blue boys three places above the relegation zone, with 9 points in nine games.

Banjul United beat Bakau United 2-1 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day to improve their position in the league.

Banjul United are mid-table with 14 points in nine outings, while Bakau United are still struggling in second place from bottom in the league, with only 5 points in nine games.

The Bakau-based outfit is hoping to win their upcoming fixtures to move away from the red zone and avoid relegation to the second tier.
