Real De Banjul are ambitious to maintain command lead in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league when actions resume in the country’s top flight league season.

The league matches were called off by the country’s football governing body Gambia Football Federation due to the just ended political impasse.

The City-boys are hoping to keep their four points in the top flight when league matches resume this weekend after the end of the country’s political impasse to revive their lead in the summit.

Second-place Gambia Armed Forces will be anticipating recuperating this week to improve their league title ambitions after losing to the newly-promoted side Tallinding United 3-2 in their previous fixture played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Gambia Armed Forces, Brikama United, Hawks, Steve Biko, Serrekunda United and Gamtel are all hoping to bounce back this week to increase their chances of staying in the top flight after losing to Marimoo, Tallinding United, Samger, Bombada, Real De Banjul and Gambia Ports Authority in their previous league fixtures.

The 2014-2015 domestic division one league champions Gamtel are occupying second place from bottom with 5 points in seven league matches.

The telecommunications giants will contend to win their upcoming league fixture this weekend to move away from the danger zone and pile pressure on teams above them in the top flight league.

Bombada are languishing bottom place in the premier league and will chase during their  next league fixtures to move away from relegation zone and increase their chances of staying in the top flight for yet another season and avoid demotion to the second tier.
