Ramzia
Diab has been appointed Gambian Ambassador to Malaysia and other countries in
the ASEAN region, i.e. Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Brunei
Darussalam, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
Madam
Diab’s appointment was effective 16 May 2017 and it is on contract basis for an
initial period of two years.
She
is a former nominated National Assembly member during the regime of Yahya
Jammeh and now a stalwart of the United Democratic Party (UDP).
Several
similar ambassadorial appointments were made by President Barrow.
