The second prosecution witness (PW2), Ebou Saidy, recently testified in the theft case involving one Sheriff Bah, a Guinean national, at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate Edward Singhateh.
Testifying PW2, Ebou Saidy, a resident of Bundung, told the court that he knew the accused person at the Serrekunda Market, but he did not know where he lives.
He added that the accused had stolen his property amounting to D4,500, which was given to him (the witness) for sale.
Saidy stated that he placed the articles on the verandah of the shop and went out but in space of 3 minutes he could not find the article at the place where he placed them.
He said he went into the market in search of his things and found the accused selling them. When he approached the accused he denied the act.
Saidy told the court that they had an argument with the accused and people came to enquire what was happening. He said further that the accused was taken to the police where he was detained and he later admitted to the charge of stealing.
The accused person was not beaten because he personally escorted the accused to the police station, Saidy explained, saying that the accused was fond of stealing in the market, which was why many people did not trust him.
The case continues.
