In his testimony, Touray told the court he knew the reason he was in court, which was in connection with his missing mobile phone found in possession of the accused person at FagiKunda.
The accused was a neighbour for a long time and he could remember a day when he forgot to close his window, and his mobile phone was left lying on the table.
“When I woke up the following day, I did not see my phone, and searched everywhere but to no avail,” he said, adding that after some time he was told by his brother that he spotted the phone with the accused in the street.
“I went to the accused’s house and asked him about the phone. The accused told me that I should not ask him about that phone because he purchased the phone at the market. I told him to lead me to where he purchased the phone but he refused,” he stated.
“I then reported the matter to the police station,” he said.
The case continues.
