The trial of Kissima Conteh, his wife Ramatoulie Jatta, and son Suwaibu Conteh, on Monday failed to proceed at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

The prosecutor charged the accused for store breaking and stealing, allegations they had since denied.

When the case was called, the police prosecutor, Colley, applied for an adjournment, saying his witness was not in court.

However, Kissima Conteh claimed that he was several times detained by the Kairaba Police Station, noting that it was his wife that had problem with someone, not him.

Responding to the claims, the prosecutor dismissed the claim, noting that the issue he was complaining about was not relevant to the case.

He further revealed that it was a different issue not yet brought to the court.

The trial magistrate ruled that the court could not do matters not yet before the court, noting that his claim was not related to this matter.

The case is adjourned till 10 September 2012.
