The proposed international friendly match between the Gambia’s national team against Italian Serie A side Siena has been cancelled, Pointsport was reliably informed.
The friendly was part of Italian coach Mancini’s plans to put up a strong side that can face the elephants of Ivory Coast, and was set for 14 November 2012.
Coach Mancini and technical team have been working with a team of locally-based players in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers.
The friendly, according to Foroyaa sports, was supposed to target a mix of foreign and locally-based players, and the Sports Ministry expected to financing the plan.
